I don't know when it was that I decided to compromise my own self-worth for someone else.  I have always been a firm believer in the idea that someone is only worthy of me if they are willing to love me whole-heartedly--everyday.  In amongst the throws of current life I lost a sense of my own self-love.  Maybe it was because I was so focused on giving that love to another person, or, maybe it was because I forgot how important that I am to me.  Regardless, I hate the fact that I would compromise my own ideals with an excuse for others' behavior.  It wasn't until I was driving down South Eyre Road listening to my all-time favorite pout-free music (Dave Matthews) that I realized that no, in fact I am not going to allow myself to make excuses for others.  I remembered how important it was for me to love myself--everyday.  Justifying behaviors wasn't allowing me to do that.  It was taking away what I know I am worth.  To me, self love is the ultimate satisfaction.  I am too important to myself to waste my time being upset.  I have made changes in my life that have ultimately changed the position that I am in today, but I am none the greater nor the less because of them.  Only shaped by my experiences, I continue to grow and value what is most important in life.  Self-worth.  I will continue to love who I am--everyday.  I refuse to make the choice of letting others influence how I feel.    Instead, I will influence myself, knowing that I love who I am because of the choices that I make--to be happy, today and everyday.
